People have been giving this movie 10/10s and calling it the best movie ever made. It is even #1 on IMDb. I have only seen The Dark Knight twice, and after each viewing I felt a little disappointment.
First the good, this one of the best comic book movies and Heath Ledger does a great job as the Joker. His death, in my honest opinion, does not affect me in any way. I would love his performance, if was dead, alive or undead. Also every actor does a fine job in the movie. Each character big or small was developed perfectly for the movie. Also the writing was great as well.
OK! Now it is time for the bad and the spoilers. It is 30mins too long. This is a negative comment that gets tossed around for this movie too much without reason or examples of what should have been cut. With that said, There is no big part in the movie that I would cut. I would make certain scenes shorter. For example, when the two boats are deciding to blow each other up. I felt that this was drag out a little more then needed. Scenes like these were good, but I wanted the action to continue not the drama. This movie would have been perfect, if it wasn't for these three thing excluding the length of the movie. Hopefully someone will explain some of this to me. How do Batman and Racheal survive the fall. He doesn't use his cape or his grappling hook gun and from the look of it, he does not even break her fall, because both of their bodies make imprints on the taxi. Next, how he finds the fingerprint on the bullet was stupid and I leave it at that. Finally, I except the use of sonar cell phones, but why does he use it one on one with the Joker. He is trained ninja, and is suppose to be able to fight in the dark.
Despite my stupid complaints, The movie was and is very good. A must see event though it is not perfect.
